The History of Domiana

"There is obscenity and grotesquerie on every page -- but not without a reason. It is a story about addiction and lost control, and often considered a beautiful vision."

Domiana was formed in 1997 by vocalist/programmer Dredd and guitarist William Curry. The band's eclectic, theatrical cabaret goth rock style was influenced by traditional gothic rock, industrial, experimental noise, new wave, synthpop, old-school punk, the fetish scene, post-punk and Japanese visual kei/glam.

The years have brought several lineup changes. Brian Warren joined the group on bass in 1999. He was later replaced in 2000 by bassist/vocalist Ashe. In 2002, the year that Domiana released a 6-song EP, The Sacred Heart, Dementia joined the band as vocalist and keyboardist. In 2005, Ashe left the band and was replaced by Mr. Morgue on upright bass.

Domiana has played concerts in Salt Lake City, Idaho, and California, sharing the stage with artists such as Martin Atkins, Bella Morte, Voltaire, Android Lust, The Azoic, The Last Dance, The Brides, Apocalypse Theatre, Faith Assembly, Project 12:01, Secret Secret, Carphax Files, Tragic Black, Redemption and more.

Currently recording a full-length album for release in 2006, Domiana continues to blaze a trail with its 21st-century grand guignol Whorrorshow Cabaret. Domiana is Faust-wave subliminal theatre and retrofuture decadence. Cinematic and dramatic, it is the soundtrack for the decline and fall.
